Description

The Juju hat (also known as a Bamiléké feather headdress or Tyn Hat) is a symbol of prosperity. It is believed to possess the positive qualities of birds, as well as the beauty and fragility of life. It is traditionally worn by the royal dancers during important ceremonies held by the tribal chief.

This coral coloured headdress, from Cameroon, is made from dyed chicken and wild bird feathers stitched onto a woven raffia support. It easily unfolds into an amazing circular hat, perfect for above a fireplace or as a feature in any space. When not in use, the headdress can be folded into a basket shape, taking up very little space, with the feathers neatly protected inside.
